This fixed the problem! I suspect it couldn't handle the file being compressed. I remembered that I had recently run a cleanup that had included old file compression, so I right-clicked the My Safe data file, went to 'properties, and unticked all the options under the 'advanced button'. It was in: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Protector Suite QL\. Eventually I tracked the data file down for My Safe. I wasn't able to though, as I got the same error message when it tried to open it to convert it. This gave me a dialogue box to convert My Safe to the new format. I installed the latest version of protector suite from Toshiba (5.6). I tried going through the add/remove programs as suggested, but didn't get the change and repair option. This time turning off the antivirus didn't work. I have since changed to a different package, as I had to disable Avast everytime I wanted to use the safe.

I believe it is something that is part of what we use to protect the application from being decompiled, etc. Submit button not available until all fields are filled correctly Trouble signing in Create an account. It isn't something core to how our application needs to run or work. I don't think it will be a problem to change but I would like to find out a little more about it and may be let you know what is causing that. Why is checking for a VM such a red flag? Just a general answer here is fine although I may also like to discuss via email or some other method to get details. HonzaZ, thank you for replying and removing the block. What did you run or use to see those results? I would like to be able to duplicate it as we test to see if we can remove what may have caused them.
